Residence Permit Application Guide in Turkey
In this article, we will give you detailed information about applying for a residence permit in Turkey, how to apply for a residence permit (ikamet permit), what we need to pay attention to during the application, we will tell you in detail.

How do I apply for a residence permit?
We have explained all the residence permit application stages for you, let’s start immediately;
1- The first thing we need to tell you for the application for a residence permit is that you must be legally staying in Turkey. People who are not in Turkey legally, that is, people who are in Turkey illegally cannot apply for a residence permit. The online application system of the migration administration does not accept applications from foreigners who are in Turkey illegally. Likewise, it is not possible to apply for a residence permit from abroad without entering Turkey.
2- Before applying for a residence permit online, we need health insurance, an address to stay, and a passport. We have made the foreign health insurance, we know where we will stay, now we can proceed to the online application stage.
3- We write ‘-e residence application’ to Google. We continue our online application at the address that appears. Residence permit official online application page : https://e-ikamet.goc.gov.tr/

5- After the online application is completed, the system will give you an appointment day. Generally, an appointment is given to the immigration administration 2 weeks after the online application is completed. If you have written your residence permit application form, your online application is complete.
6- We have completed the online application, we also have an appointment day. Here we need to say about the appointment day; sometimes the Immigration Administration does not notify the appointment day immediately after the online application at busy times. The appointment date and time are then sent to your mobile phone by the Migration Management.
7- What needs to be done until the appointment day is the preparation of the necessary documents for the residence permit. 8- We have prepared our documents related to the residence permit, we go to the immigration office on the appointment day. We need to give our documents to the immigration office in a pink file. You do not need to worry about the pink file, you can easily buy it from every shop next to the Immigration Authorities.
9- When you go to the Immigration Administration, if there is no deficiency in your documents, your documents will be received and your application will be completed by giving fingerprints. If there is a deficiency in your documents, you will be given 30 days and you must complete your documents within these 30 days and submit them to the immigration administration again.
10- Approximately 2 weeks after you submit your documents completely, the result of your residence permit application comes as SMS to the mobile phone you provided during the online application. At this stage, you need to act according to the result.
11- If your residence permit application has been accepted, then you should wait for your residence card and after your residence permit card is sent to your home, you should go to the Immigration Administration and register your address. ADDRESS REGISTRATION FOR FOREIGNERS ? According to the law, you must register your address 20 days after your residence permit is approved.
If your residence permit application is rejected, you must leave Turkey within 10 days. You can file a lawsuit against the rejection of your residence permit application in Turkish courts. However, remember that filing a lawsuit will not give you the right to stay in Turkey. You have to return to your country and wait for the result of the court case in your country.

Costs and Timescales
The cost of obtaining a residence permit generally includes the following items
Residence permit fee : 2500-3500 TL
Residence Permit card fee: 810 TL
Foreign health insurance: 3000 TL
Other Expenses : In this item, if you are going to rent a house, you can calculate the rent of an average house in this item, if you will apply for a residence permit through a lawyer, you can add a lawyer fee ranging between 300 – 500 USD.

How long does it take after applying for a residence permit?
After applying for a residence permit online, an appointment is given approximately 2 weeks later and the result of our residence permit application is known within 2 weeks after the appointment date. In other words, residence permit applications are finalised within approximately 1 month in Turkey.
Is the residence permit application made from abroad?
You can only apply for a residence permit from within Turkey, you cannot apply for a residence permit from abroad. Residence permit application online Migration Management site does not accept applications.
Can I leave the country while waiting for my result after applying for a residence permit?
Yes, you can leave the country for a period not exceeding 15 days. You need to apply to the Immigration Administration and obtain an application document for departure abroad.

Hello, thank you too. Applications for obtaining a residence permit through investment are made on the same website and using the same methods.
The required documents same and the documents related to flat purchased as an investment must be submitted to the immigration office- göç idaresi.
When purchasing a flat, it must be said-mentioned at the tapu müdürlüğü that it has been obtained for a residence permit, and an online application must be made after the buyıng flat.
The flat to be invested in must be from open address regions. It is not possible to apply for a residence permit from addresses that are closed for foreigners.
